Library Loan Policy

Students

  • Library books are loaned for three weeks (except textbooks).
  • Textbooks are loaned for one day ONLY
  • Library patrons are responsible for all materials checked out to them.
  • The library warns patrons not to loan items you have borrowed to another person. If the item is lost or returned late, you will be responsible for all fines and replacement fees.

Faculty

  • Library books are loaned for one month.
  • Books can be recalled after two weeks.
  • Library patrons are responsible for all materials checked out to them.
  • The library warns patrons not to loan items you have borrowed to another person. If the item is lost or returned late, you will be responsible for all fines and replacement fees.

Staff

  • Library books are loaned for one month (except textbooks).
  • Textbooks are loaned for one day ONLY

Overdue notices

Borrowed materials must be returned or renewed by the due date. If not, the borrowers will be notified in the manner outlined below.

Students

  • Students who fail to return or renew borrowed materials by the due date will be notified via email.
  • After a maximum of two notices the director of the library will contact the by phone requesting positive action.
  • If the material is not returned or renewed within a week of the second notice, the library addresses the issue to “Administration office” to take the necessary actions.
  • After the 2nd overdue notice, the patron will be blacklisted.

 

Faculty members and teaching staff

  • Overdue notices will be mailed every week to faculty and staff for materials that are not returned or renewed by the due date.
  • A maximum of two overdue notices will be sent after which the director of the library will contact the defaulter.
  • After the 2nd overdue notice, the patron will be blacklisted.
  • The patron loses his/her borrowing privileges until he/she returns, renews or pays for the lost material
