Women in Tech 2020 at CIT – Closing Ceremony


The “CIT Women in Tech 2020” closing ceremony was held on June 2 nd , at 11:00 at CIT

The CIT Vice Rector of Research and External Relations, Prof. Assoc. Dr. Reis Mulita,
made the opening remarks of the ceremony by thanking all the invited guests and
participants of the project development. He congratulated the students for their
engagement in the project and considered this project as a great opportunity for
strengthening the collaboration between CIT, professionals in the field of technology and

CIT was highly honored by the presence of Her Excellency Ms. Elsa Håstad,
Ambassador of Sweden in Albania. During her welcome speech, the Ambassador
emphasized the importance of such events in order to raise awareness for empowerment
of women in the field of technology. The Ambassador highlighted the two important
aspects of the Swedish government and society: the feminist agenda and the
technological development. Her Excellency congratulated CIT for the developing such a
project that fosters women participation in technology.

Thereafter, the coordinator of Women in Tech project and CIT student, Silva Bashllari,
presented the overall structure and organization of the project. She valued the support of
numerous CIT students who helped as mentors during the project. CIT lecturer, Evis
Plaku, presented the technical aspects of the project and the knowledge acquired by a
series of interactive lectures and practical sessions.

We were also honored by the presence of two successful Albanian women with more
than 10 years of experience in the field of technology, Ms. Artiona Bogo, blockchain and
DLT senior expert in Berlin, Germany and Ms. Diana Xhumari, CEO of Tegeria. They
discussed the challenges that women face in the field of technology and the fourth
industrial revolution gaining momentum.

Finally, numerous CIT mentor students and high school participants of the Women in
Tech project from different regions of Albania shared their own experiences and gains
