Canadian Institute of Technology organized on March 7th, in accordance with Teacher’s Day and the upcoming Women’s Day, the open ceremony of “Women in Tech” project.
The event initiated with a speech from Dr. Sonila Tatili, coordinator of Students’ clubs at CIT.
Prof. Assoc. Dr. Reis Mulita – Rector of CIT held a welcome speech to all distinguished guests and high school students who will be part of “Women in Tech” project, which aims to empower women’s participation in technology.
Distinguished guest speaker Mr. Nait Hasani, Kosovo’s Ambassador in Albania, Ms.Ina Kollçaku, psychologist and women rights activist and Mr. Kujtim Morina, diplomat and former Ambassador of Albania in Kuwait, Prof. Dr. Petraq Papajorgji professor at CIT honored us with their presence and spoke on the importance of such events.
The event was moderated by Ms. Silva Bashllari, initiator and coordinator of Women in Tech and CIT student.
MSc. Evis Plaku – lecturer at Faculty of Engineering will support this project and teach participants the heart of the programming paradigm while having hands-on experience on the tools and techniques used in the software industry. CIT students will assist as mentors for the high school students of the project.
When one woman helps another, amazing things can happen. That is what “Women in Tech” is all about, to empowers young girls aged 15 – 19 (with or without experience in coding), by offering one month #FREE #training to learn coding and #networking with lot of women leading the Tech Field.
