The Canadian Institute of Technology’s Graduation Ceremony was held on 09.12.2021 at the Palace of
Congresses, with the participation of 400 students, Bachelor and Master, who graduated during the
years 2018-2021.
Their graduation did not happen before, because of the pandemic situation.
We were honored by our important guests, which gave speeches at the Ceremony, like President of
Albania Ilir Meta, Mayer of Tirana Erjon Veliaj, the British Ambassador His Majesty Alastair King-Smith,
Famous Journalist Mr. Adi Krasta, Prof. Dr. Merita Xhumari, the Chairwoman of CIT Board.
During his motivational speech, President Ilir Meta expressed his joyfulness to attend the most
important and festive event in the life of every student, the Graduation Ceremony.
The President addressed our students with the most heartfelt wishes for future success in the fields they
have selected and invited them to join forces to discourage the great wound, “The depopulation of
Albania by young people”.
Mayor of Tirana Mr. Erion Veliaj congratulated the staff for their achievements and the students who
graduated in the ceremony. He noted that life is full of challenges, hard work and that now those
students are going to be colleagues and expects them to join him on his initiative “Tirana European
Youth Capital 2022″
Prof. Dr. Merita Xhumari, the Chairwoman of CIT Board stated that “This is a day dedicated to the
successful coronation of several years of student work, dedicated faculty, and all those who have
contributed to the achievements to date. During my journey with the Canadian Institute of Technology, I
have embarked as a member of the Board of Directors.
As a Chair of the Board, in a significant period of development and achievements of our institution, I will
always offer innovative study programs related to market demands, presented by a motivated and
experienced Academic staff, graduated from the best universities in the world.
The British Ambassador in Tirana, His Majesty Alastair King-Smith in his motivational speech addressed
to the students and those present, thanked the Albanian people for the hospitality and generosity as a
feature of this country.
He stated that “I have tried to convey this treasure that you have here among you and in my country so
that everyone knows these values you have”.
The famous journalist Mr. Adi Krasta, as he is always special in his performances, gave some tips for
graduated students:
“Good for those who will compete with themselves and not with others!”
“When graduating from technology school, give a philosophical mathematical thought, which should
help you in life to understand some very important things that other superficial schools do not allow.”
“After many years you will get your answers to your questions!”
CIT presented “Rector’s Award” to Prof.Assoc. Selami Xhepa:
“For his Dedication and Outstanding Contribution to CIT”

Prof. Assoc. Selami Xhepa has given his contribution as Dean of the Faculty of Economy since the establishment of CIT until 2014.
CIT presented “Rector’s Award” to Prof.Assoc. Fabian Zhilla
“For his Dedication and Outstanding Contribution to CIT”

Prof. Assoc. Fabian Zhilla has given and continues to give his contribution and expertise as a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Economy at CIT since 2013.
CIT presented “Rector’s Award” to Prof. Assoc. Artur Jaupaj:
“For his Dedication and Outstanding Contribution to CIT”

Prof. Assoc. Artur Jaupaj has joined CIT in 2012. Since then he has held several management positions at the institution. He has been the Head of the BA&IT Department, Dean of the Faculty of Economy, while now he continues to give his contribution as a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Economy
CIT presented “Academic Senate Award” to Prof. Dr. Shkelqim Cani:
“In recognition of Outstanding Academic Performance and Lasting contribution to CIT”

Prof. Dr. Shkelqim Cani has joined CIT since 2017 and continues to give his contribution as a full-time lecturer at the Faculty of Economy.
Since 2019 Prof. Shkelqim Cani is a member of the CIT Board of Administration.
CIT presented “Board of Administration Award” to Prof. Dr. Habib Hamam:
“In Recognition of his Perseverance, Exceptional Achievements and Significant Contributions to CIT”.

Prof. Habib Hamam has been part of CIT since its establishment in 2012 as the Rector of University College “Canadian Institute of Technology” until 2018. Today he continues to give his contribution as a lecturer at the Faculty of Engineering.

“In special recognition for being an Example of Perseverance, Excellence, and Outstanding Performance”

He is “An inspiring story!”, distinguished for his academic dedication at the Canadian Institute of Technology, for his sacrifice to pursue his dream could not be left unrewarded. Eduard is the testimony that when the heart and mind are healthy, the body follows them in any situation. Mr. Eduard Hasanaj was a student in Software Engineering Program.

Mr. Ilir Cekiri joined CIT in the position of Chancellor, then held the position of Head of Marketing and PR Department, Administrator of the Faculty of Economy and from 2019 to 2020 gave his contribution as Administrator of University College “Canadian Institute of Technology”.
