On 2 December 2025, the Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT) successfully hosted an online Focus Group as part of the Initiative for Collaboration, Research and Innovation in Western Balkans Universities (ICRI-WB) project. The initiative is funded by NASRI and led by CIT in partnership with the University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës (UAMD).
The session brought together Senior Academic Leaders from Western Balkan universities, including representatives from:
- University “Aleksandër Moisiu” Durrës, Albania
- University of Vlora “Ismail Qemali”, Albania
- AAB College, Kosovo
- Public University “Kadri Zeka”, Kosovo
- “Mother Teresa” University, North Macedonia
- University of Tuzla, Bosnia & Herzegovina
Moderated by Dr. Oliana Sula, the Focus Group explored the role of regional cooperation in strengthening scientific research and enhancing connections with industry and innovation. Participants engaged in constructive discussions on shared challenges, opportunities for cross-border collaboration, and practical approaches to support long-term partnerships in research, innovation, and institutional development across the region.
The ICRI-WB project continues to play a key role in promoting dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaborative initiatives that contribute to advancing the research and innovation ecosystem in Western Balkan universities.
