The “Balkan Universities Association 2023” conference, the 7th annual meeting was held in Tuzla, Bosnia and Herzegovina on September 27-28, 2023.

The Balkan Universities Association (BUA) established in 2014, is the largest university Association in Balkans. 81 members from all over the Balkans: Albania, BiH, Türkiye, Bulgaria, Greece, Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia, Kosovo, Romania. BUA aims to collaborate and discuss common problems of the Balkans as did panels in this meeting: Internationalization at the Balkans, Role of university Networks, Youth participation in the Balkans, Migrations in the Balkans.

CIT had applied to be a member of BUA in 2022 and as of September 26, 2023, CIT is elected to be a new member of BUA along with prestigious universities; Boğaziçi University from Turkiye and Bucharest University of Economics from Romania.

Participants in the meeting were the Prime Minister of Tuzla Canton, Minister of Education of Tuzla Canton, Major of Tuzla, Prof. Dr. Nermina Hadžigrahić – Rector of Tuzla University at the same time the 2023 term president of BUA, Prof. Dr. Erhan Tabakoğlu – Rector of Trakya University at the same time the General Secretariat of BUA and many Rectors and Vice-Rectors from different countries. Our dedicated representatives, Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoğlu and Assoc. Prof. Reis Mulita contributed their insights to this enlightening event, further strengthening our commitment to education, research, and regional cooperation reaffirming our dedication to academic excellence and cross-border collaboration.
