BALKAN UNIVERSITIES ASSOCIATION | Strategic Dialogue in Higher Education

The Canadian Institute of Technology participated in the BUA 2026 Conference, hosted by the University of Montenegro in Podgorica on April 1–2, bringing together over 120 universities from across the region. Discussions focused on key developments in higher education, including the European Universities Initiative, joint and double degree programs, and micro-credentials.

As a member of the Balkan Universities Association (BUA), the largest academic network in the Balkans, founded in 2014, CIT continues to contribute to strengthening regional cooperation and internationalization.

The conference also included the BUA General Assembly Meeting, where candidate institutions presented their profiles and membership voting took place, further reinforcing the Association’s collaborative framework.

Our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoğlu, participated in a panel on Western Balkans cultural heritage, highlighting the importance of inter-university collaboration, the role of higher education in youth development, and CIT’s commitment to academic excellence through student-centered initiatives such as innovation centers and the CIT Hub.
