The Canadian Institute of Technology concluded the second edition of the CIT Champions League, celebrating another successful season of student football marked by competitive matches, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
The tournament reached its climax on 2 June 2026, when Manchester CIT and CIT United faced off in the Grand Final. Following a closely contested match that ended 1–1 in regular time, the championship was ultimately decided through a penalty shootout. CIT United secured a 5–4 victory on penalties, earning the title of CIT Champions League 2026 Champions.
A key figure in the championship-winning campaign was Edion Qerimi, captain and goalkeeper of CIT United, who was named Player of the Tournament. His leadership, consistency, and decisive performances throughout the competition were instrumental in his team’s success.
The tournament once again highlighted the role of sports in fostering student engagement, teamwork, and a strong sense of community within the university. Throughout the competition, participating teams demonstrated commitment, determination, and fair play, contributing to a memorable sporting event.
