At the beginning of the 2025–2026 academic year, during Freshmen Orientation Week, the Quality Assurance Unit (QAU) of the Canadian Institute of Technology organized an informative session for freshmen students, introducing them to the university’s quality assurance system and their role within it.
During the presentation, the representative of the Quality Assurance Unit provided students with an overview of the mission, objectives, and main functions of QAU, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high academic standards and continuously improving the quality of teaching, research, and institutional services.
A key focus of the meeting was the active involvement of students in quality assurance processes. Freshmen students were informed about their opportunities to participate in committees, contribute to internal evaluation processes, and represent the student voice in institutional decision-making structures.
The QAU representative also introduced the student survey system, explaining the different questionnaires that students complete throughout the academic year. These surveys collect feedback regarding the registration process, course quality, lecturer performance, and overall student satisfaction with CIT.
Students were encouraged to provide honest and constructive feedback, as their input plays an essential role in improving academic and administrative services. The results of the questionnaires are discussed in meetings with the Student Government, and reports can also be found on the university website.
Students were also informed about the institutional regulations and transparency principles at CIT, including access to official documents, academic policies, and accreditation information available on the university’s website.
The presentation also explained the procedures for submitting academic and non-academic complaints, ensuring that students are aware of the formal channels available for addressing their concerns.
