July 4, 2025 – Tirana, Albania — In a remarkable display of cross-border collaboration, Dr. Endrit Kromidha, Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the University of Birmingham, UK, and Dr. Blendi Shima, Lecturer and Program Coordinator at the Canadian Institute of Technology in Tirana, are joining forces to reshape business education in Albania.
Through a shared vision for innovation and entrepreneurship, the two scholars are not only teaching but also transforming how students think, create, and lead in a rapidly evolving business landscape. Their efforts exemplify the powerful impact of knowledge transfer from the Albanian diaspora to local institutions.
This initiative is supported by EU for Innovation, a project funded by the European Union, Germany, and Sweden, and implemented in collaboration with Germin, a diaspora engagement organization. The program aims to bridge global expertise with local development by enabling Albanian professionals abroad to contribute to the country’s educational and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Dr. Kromidha and Dr. Shima’s collaboration is a strong example of how international experience, when connected with local context, can accelerate progress and spark meaningful change in higher education and beyond.
