Representatives from the Canadian Institute of Technology (CIT), led by Rector Prof. Dr. Ismail Kocayusufoǧlu, conducted an official academic visit on September 18, 2025, to the University of Elbasan (UNIEL) in Albania. The delegation included Mr. Ubejd Osmani, CIT Administrator, Prof. Assoc. Entelë Gavoçi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Bledar Komini, Project Lead of the ICRI-WB project and CIT Board Advisor. From UNIEL, the meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Elvira Fetahu, Rector of UNIEL, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bederiana Shyti, Dean of the Faculty of Natural Sciences, and MSc. Ervis Sanço, Head of the International Relations Office.

The discussions focused on strengthening inter-university collaboration and joint academic projects. Key topics included invitations to CIT’s International Conference and Hackathon for UNIEL, as well as UNIEL’s invitation for CIT to participate in its Student International Conference. During the visit, CIT extended an official invitation for UNIEL to join the regional platform of the Initiative for Collaboration, Research and Innovation in Western Balkans Universities (ICRI-WB), a strategic initiative led by CIT and funded by NASRI (National Agency for Scientific Research and Innovation) in Albania.

Through this visit, CIT reaffirms its mission to promote academic collaboration, research, and innovation across the region.
